We’ll continue to have five “readings” each week. Brian and other pastors draw significantly from these readings for our teachings on Saturdays/Sundays and on Wednesday nights.
The NIV Student Bible Introductory Notes are also available, a brief magazine article style to every book of the Bible.

Fall EquipU Classes & Fellowship Meal Begin

EquipU Classes & Fellowship Meal begin Wednesday night, September 10! Registration required for children’s classes.

Fellowship Meals On Wednesday Nights: in the Fellowship Hall, 5:15- 6:15 PM.
Cost is $5 for ages 13 years and up, $3 for ages 6-12, free for those 5 and under,
with a maximum cost of $18/family.
Weekly Featured Item (each week will also have salad, bread, dessert, mac & cheese and hot dogs for the kids).

10/8 - Chicken and fries, rice, green beans
10/15 - Roast Beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn

 


Habitat for Humanity

Please remember the commitments you have made to participate in the Build for the final weekend, October 11 & 12. C.E.R.T. Training

Belmont Church in conjunction with Brentwood Hills Church of Christ will be hosting C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) training classes in October and November. The dates are: Thursdays, October 16 & 30 from 6-10 PM at Belmont Church, meeting in the Fellowship Hall; Thursdays, November 6 & 13 from 6-10 PM at Brentwood Hills Church of Christ, There is no fee. Sunday, October 19, 12:45– 3 PM in Asaph’s Chamber. Exploring membership at Belmont? Belmont 101: An introduction to Belmont Church is for you! Designed for visitors and those considering membership at Belmont, it’s our introduction to the history, values and ministries of the church. We begin with a free box lunch served immediately after the
11 AM assembly in Asaph’s Chamber. Call 256-2124, ext. 101 to register for the class and ext. 482 to reserve childcare. You MUST register for the class and for childcare no later than Tuesday, October 14.

 

 

Habitat House Fall Build Dedication and Fall Fest

The Humanitas Forum on Christianity and Culture, Fall-2008

“For several years Belmont Church has hosted the Humanitas Forum on Christianity and Culture. This fall the forum is being hosted by St. George’s Episcopal, but we still want to encourage our Belmont Church members and friends to take advantage of this opportunity to be encouraged as ‘thinking Christians’.  And by showing up at St. George’s we will be continuing our calling to be a reconciling force in the body of Christ.

Dr. Ralph C. Wood is University Professor of Theology and Literature at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.Dr. Wood has given numerous lectures at major universities and churches across the U. S. and Canada on theological topics as well as on writers such as C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Flannery O’Connor, and Walker Percy. He is the author of several books, including The Gospel According to Tolkien:Visions of the Kingdom in Middle-earth and Flannery O’Connor and the Christ-Haunted South. He is currently working on a book about G. K. Chesterton.
