Next Gen Pastor

Belmont Church is a 100+ year-old non-denominational church strategically located in an exciting location right in the middle of Music Row, university campuses, and a fast-growing local community.

The role of Next Gen Pastor at Belmont Church is to provide leadership and collaborative vision that is specific to the ages of birth through 22 years old. This includes Belmont Kids, Mosaic Youth, and college age students.

The Next Gen Pastor should first and foremost:

  • Live a life exemplary of a passionate believer, fully devoted to Jesus Christ.
  • Prioritize relationship with Jesus, family, and then ministry.
  • Stand in agreement with the core beliefs of Belmont Church.
  • Be willing to learn, teach, study, serve, laugh, flow, apologize, listen, grow, counsel, galvanize, flex, collaborate, lead, be thankful, accountable, and gracious.

The Next Gen Pastor should be an effective communicator and team builder that will…

  • Oversee all ministry areas that serve from birth through 22 years old.
  • Work with established staff and volunteer leaders to identify and serve in alignment with their giftings.
  • Create vertical & horizontal integration through the ages / ministries.
  • Champion the vision and values of kids, youth and college students.
  • Create / select curriculum, events, and outreaches for all ages.
  • Produce strategic experiences to be relevant and engaging for each group.
  • Build a sustainable framework that will allow for ministry growth.
  • Work with teams to recruit and train leaders and volunteers.
  • Leverage digital strategies to enhance learning, growth, and relationships.
  • Design opportunities to help every parent / student stay connected.
  • Facilitate ways to focus attention and resources for the next generation outside the walls of the church.
  • Create service opportunities for all ages within and outside the church.
  • Engage with schools and other organizations in the surrounding area.

Additional responsibilities of the Next Gen Pastor are…

  • Active participation in Sunday and Wednesday gatherings.
  • Attend general meetings as needed.
  • Consistently weave distinctives of Belmont’s vision and core values into all areas of ministry.
  • Participate with church body through ministry such as hospital visits, perform weddings and funerals, and various types of counseling, as qualified.
  • Serve Belmont Church’s ministry to the poor, world missions, and other Belmont connected ministries as needed.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the overall vision and core spiritual beliefs of Belmont Church.
  • Pray regularly for Pastors, Missionaries, and team members.
  • Be available to serve within the defined role of a pastoral staff member of Belmont Church.

The Next Gen Pastor should have:

  • Formal biblical training completed or in process.
  • Experience with recruiting and leading teams.
  • A clear calling to work with preschoolers, children, students and their families.
  • Creative and innovative thinking about ministering to the next generation.
  • Understanding of and willingness to serve within a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to identify and rightly fit people in their giftings.
