How long have you served as an Elder? Since the summer of 2020.
What do you love most about being an Elder? Being in relationship with, and walking through challenges together with, the elders and staff, to see God’s kingdom come. When there is peace, unity and common kingdom purposes being accomplished through the power of the Spirit among us, it is beautiful, it is life giving. I want to see God’s kingdom coming at Belmont Church; when we see that happening, it is pure joy.
Family: I am married to Caryl Brower with 2 children, Andrew and Malika. Andrew is married to Caroline Brower, with 2 children, Kennedy (4 y.o.) and Noah (3 months old).
What are things you do to help you refresh?
I enjoy watching sports, riding a bicycle in the right weather, but spiritual refreshment is found while mediating and reciting scriptures from the Bible.
Fun Fact? My blood is “orange” (University of Tennessee alumni); first trip overseas and outside USA was a short-term (1 year) mission trip to Thailand in 1988-89 with Caryl.
Worship songs you’ll always turn up: “The Blessing”, “Every Nation”, “Our Father”, “What a Beautiful Name”, “Worthy of It All”, “Yeshua”, “Yours (Glory and Praise)”
Life Scripture: Mark 10:43-45 – Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
